ADVERTISEMENT NO.2 of 2013 

Applications in prescribed format are invited from the Judicial Officers who have completed five years of service as on 30.04.2013 in the Cadre of Senior Civil Judge for filling up of vacancies in the Cadre of District Judge on the basis of merit through Limited Competitive Examination. 

2. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION : 23.10.2013

Warning : Applications received after 23.10.2013 will not be entertained and incomplete in any respect are liable to be summarily rejected. 

3. ELIGIBILITY:
An Officer in the Cadre of Senior Civil Judge who have completed five years of qualifying service as on 30.04.2013 is eligible to apply for filling up of vacancies in the Cadre of District Judge on the basis of merit through Limited Competitive Examination.
4. SCALE OF PAY: Rs. 51,550-1230-58,930-1380-63,070/- with usual DA and
other allowances as admissible from time to time. 

5. NO. OF VACANCIES: 5 (Five)
6. PERIOD OF TRAINING & PROBATION:
Every candidate recruited as District Judge by Limited Competitive Examination shall undergo a course of training under Rule-30-A (3) and all these appointments shall be on probation under Rule- 33 of OSJS & OJS Rules, 2007, amended 2013.
7. EXAMINATION:
(1) There shall be a written examination consisting of two papers carrying 75 marks each having duration of two hours.
PAPER-I: Code of Civil Procedure —25 Marks, Personal Law -25 Marks, Transfer of Property Act, Specific Relief Act, Limitation Act, Law of Contract, Orissa Consolidation of Holdings and Prevention of Fragmentation of Land Act, O.E.A. Act, Orissa Land Reforms Act and Law of Motor Accident Claim 25 Marks.
PAPER-Il Code of Criminal Procedure 20 Marks, Indian Penal Code - 20 Marks, Indian Evidence Act - 20 Marks, N.D.P.S. Act, Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, Prevention of Corruption Act, Essential Commodities Act, Environment Protection Act, Water (Prevention nd Control of Pollution) Act & Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 - 15 Marks.


(2) Interview:
Interview shall carry 20 marks.
Candidates securing minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in both the written papers but not less than 45% in individual written paper shall be called for interview.
(3) Evaluation of C.C.Rs I P.A.Rs.
Candidates’ C.C.Rs 1 P.A.Rs. for five years immediately preceding the year of examination shall be evaluated which shall carry 30 marks.
The final selection shall be made on the basis of total marks obtained in the written and interview test and evaluation of C.C.Rs I P.A.Rs provided that a candidate shall not be selected unless he/she secures 40% of marks in interview.
